Allergy-IgE Test

WHAT IS THE ALLERGY-IgE TEST?

The Allergy-IgE Test checks the levels of IgE antibodies in blood, with the aim of identifying any possible allergic reaction against possible agents, such as dust mites, pollens, grasses and animal fur. Checking the presence of IgE antibodies is a useful tool for verifying a potential allergy.

WHAT ARE THE ANTIBODIES IgE?

Class E immunoglobulins (IgE) are a category of antibodies which is most involved in allergic reactions. In normal conditions, IgE are present in the blood in very low quantity. IgE antibodies play an essential role in hypersensitivity type I that manifests itself in various allergic disorders, such as allergic asthma, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, food allergies and specific types of chronic urticaria and atopic dermatitis. This is why it's important to check if IgE levels are above normal, especially in individuals with a family history of allergies. Allergic sensitivity can develop and change throughout life.

WHO DOES USE THE ALLERGY-IgE TEST?

The test is useful for anyone with typical allergic symptoms (itching and/or reddened skin, watery eyes and sneezing repeatedly) and who is over 6 years of age, especially if they have a family history of allergies. More than 20% of allergic patients live in a state of severe debilitation because of their condition and struggle daily with the fear of a possible asthma attack, an anaphylactic shock or even more serious situations caused by an allergic reaction.

HOW DOES THE ALLERGY-IgE TEST WORK?

The Allergy-IgE Test is a rapid immunochromatographic device for the qualitative determination of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) in the blood, in concentration above average. The body reacts to an allergic agent with an increased level of IgE by the immune system, detected by the Allergy-IgE Test. This Test provides specific, sensitive and accurate results in just 10 minutes.

WHEN SHOULD I DO THE ALLERGY-IgE TEST?

Checking the presence of common allergic symptoms is useful from 6 years of age, such as colds, sneezing, bronchial spasm, redness and itching in eyes and skin. The symptoms are different depending on the area of the body subjected to the agents action due to allergic reactions. Monitor your health status with our Allergy-IgE Test.
